Los vencedores de los reconocimientos más prestigiosos de la pequeña pantalla en el Reino Unido se dieron hoy a conocer en una ceremonia celebrada en el Royal Albert Hall de Londres
La serie sobre narcotraficantes ambientada en Londres ‘Top Boy’, emitida por Netflix, ganó este domingo el premio Bafta de la televisión británica a la mejor serie dramática, el más codiciado de la gala, así como el galardón a mejor actriz de reparto, que fue para Jasmine Jobson.

Allí, el premio Bafta TV a mejor actor fue a parar a manos de Timothy Spall por su papel de Peter Farquhar en la serie basada en crímenes reales ‘The Sixth Commandment’ (El sexto mandamiento), que partía con seis nominaciones y se llevó dos premios.
El premio a mejor actriz, entregado por la estrella de Hollywood Jeff Goldblum, se lo llevó la gran favorita en esa categoría, Sarah Lancashire, por su elogiada interpretación de la detective Catherine Cawood en ‘Happy Valley’ (Valle Feliz), de la BBC, que concluyó el pasado año con su tercera temporada.
Como mejor actor de reparto se erigió hoy Matthew MacFadyen, por su papel en ‘Succession’ -otra de las series más nominadas, que optaba a seis categorías-, mientras que el Bafta a mejor actriz de reparto fue para Jasmine Jobson por su papel en la premiada ‘Top Boy’, un galardón que recogió emocionada al señalar cómo su participación en esa serie le «cambió la vida».
Tras dos décadas en la pequeña pantalla, el popular espacio televisivo ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ se hizo hoy con el premio a mejor programa de entretenimiento.
El Bafta más codiciado, el de mejor serie dramática, fue para ‘Top Boy’, creada y escrita por Ronan Bennett, emitida por la plataforma Netflix que se impuso a la favorita ‘Happy Valley’, que al igual que ‘Top Boy’ y ‘The Sixth Commandment’ se llevó dos reconocimientos.
La mejor serie dramática, con su trama sobre traficantes y bandas callejeras ambientada en un barrio conflictivo ficticio de Londres, llegó a su término el pasado año, cuando emitió su última temporada, atrayendo a una gran audiencia.
Hoy se impuso a ‘The Gold’ (El oro), de la BBC, ‘Happy Valley’ (Valle Feliz) de BBC One, y la serie de espionaje’Slow Horses’ (Caballos lentos), de Apple TV+, protagonizada por Gary Oldman que también partía con seis nominaciones.
La actriz Kat Sadler recogió el premio a mejor serie de comedia por ‘Such Brave Girls’ (Unas chicas tan valientes), cuyos capítulos sobre una familia disfuncional formada por dos hermanas y su madre soltera emite el canal BBC Three.
La nadadora paralímpica Ellie Simmonds se llevó a casa el Bafta a mejor documental por «Finding My Secret Family» (Encontrando a mi familia secreta), en el que la deportista ahonda en su discapacidad y en su historia de adopción, rastreando a su madre biológica.
La policíaca ‘Happy Valley’ (Valle feliz) ganó el galardón al «momento más memorable» por una escena tensa y emotiva votada por la audiencia en la que los personajes de Catherine Cawood, interpretado por la galardonada Sarah Lancashire, y Tommy Lee Royce (James Norton) se encuentran la cocina de la detective cara a cara.
Entre otros ganadores de la noche, el reconocimiento a la mejor telenovela se lo llevó ‘Casualty’, un producto televisivo con temática sanitaria sobre las vidas y circunstancias del personal del Hospital de Holby City.
El Bafta a mejor programa de día fue para ‘Scam Interceptors’ (Interceptadores de fraude), un producto del canal BBC One que trabaja con ‘hackers’ reales a fin de evitar que personas vulnerables caigan víctimas de estafadores.
